So, I guess it’s pretty obvious which story this photo is inspired from, huh? Yep, The Little Mermaid. Except the original story was much sadder than Disney’s version. In the original story, the mermaid does not get the prince, and she does not get to stay human. Instead, she is transformed back into a mermaid, and according to the story, only humans have souls. So when the little mermaid dies, she simply becomes ocean foam, froth in the waves.
